This book is the winner of the MAN BOOKER PRIZE 2006, and the author, Kiran Desai, the youngest winner of that prize. She was born at New Delhi, India and her mother, Anita Desai, has ever been nominated for the Man Booker Prize three times. She grew up at India on childhood and migrate to England with her mother at 14, then settled down in US one year later.
In 1988 Kiran Desai published her first novel, Hullabaloo in the Guava Orchard, and winned the Betty Trask Award. In 2006 her second novel, The Inheritance of Lost, winned the Man Booker Prize and National Book critics Circle Award simultaneously.
